My first visit to Brooklyn Instrument Museum was in 2007. PSS and JMS, curators of the museum and two close personal friends of mine, have been adding to their vast collection of rare and vintage musical instruments since 2000. While the museum is currently hosted in their living room, they hope to someday expand into a bigger space, an actual nonprofit museum. They put on shows around the city once in awhile, featuring musicians who love wacky instruments, and demo-ing some out of their own collection.
In November, PSS and JMS brought some of their favorite instruments over to my studio for a session, including the one above, a Marxolin.
Several months earlier, I’d met up with PSS and JMS to take some photos of them with their instruments. How cute are they?!
